Brian D. Swartz received his BS and MS in civil engineering from the Pennsylvania State University (PSU) in 2005 and 2007, respectively. He is pursuing his PhD in civil engineering at PSU and expects to graduate in 2010. Vinicio Suarez is pursuing a master's degree degree in structural engineering at the North Carolina State University, with plans to graduate in 2006. He received his undergraduate civil engineering degree from Universidad Tecnica Particular de Loja, Ecuador, in 2001. Vinicio currently holds three ACI certifications and is an approved examiner for four of the certification programs. Vinicio hopes to become an expert in the field of evaluation and retrofitting of concrete structures.

2002-2003 ACI-W. R. Grace Scholarship Recipient:

Justin D. Brennan is currently attending Pennsylvania State University's Schreyer's Honor College, University Park, PA, where he is completing both a bachelor's and master's degree simultaneously. His future goals include pursuing a PhD, taking the Professional Engineer licensure exam, and becoming a professor for a Big Ten University in the field of structural engineering. 2002-2003 V. Mohan Malhotra Scholarship Recipient:

Jennifer Duquette recently completed a BS from the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada, and is currently working toward her master's degree, which she hopes to complete in spring 2003. Her long-term goal is to pursue a career as a consulting engineer.

2002-2003 Kumar Mehta Scholarship Recipient:

Steven P. Cline recently received a BS degree in civil engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in civil engineering at the University of Illinois. Ultimately, he would like to establish his own structural consulting firm specializing in earthquake engineering, earthquake retrofitting, and building restoration.

2002-2003 ACI Scholarship Recipient:

Stephan A. Durham is currently pursuing a master's in civil engineering with an emphasis in structures at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR, where he also assists Dr. John Schemmel in the evaluation of precast concrete slab panels. 2002-2003 Katharine and Bryant Mather Scholarship Recipient:

Although the Katharine and Bryant Mather Fellowship is no longer available for 2003 and forward, the last recipient is listed below.

Audra L. Hansen recently received a BS degree in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Omaha, NE, where she is currently earning her master's degree. Her long-term career goals are to become either a university faculty member or a senior design engineer at a structural engineering firm.

Britta M. Goldstein currently attends the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, where she studies civil engineering with plans to receive her bachelor's degree in the spring of 2003. Her career goals include working as a project engineer or on international projects, and ultimately teaching civil engineering classes.
