Many ACI chapters offer scholarships for eligible students both within the United States, as well as internationally. These scholarships are administered entirely by the respective chapter and are not affiliated with ACI Foundation Fellowships and Scholarships.

Central Texas Chapter - ACI

Gerald Lankes and Rodney Davies Memorial Scholarship

Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware Chapter – ACI

Eastern Pennsylvania & Delaware Chapter (EPDACI) Student Scholarship: Undergraduate scholarship for students in the Chapter area. The student must be enrolled in a program with emphasis on structural and civil design, materials, design construction and/or construction chemicals.

Georgia Chapter – ACI

ACI Robert H. Kuhlman and LaGrit F. “Sam” Morris Student Scholarships: Undergraduate and Graduate students attending an accredited college or university full-time in Georgia and pursuing a degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, material science, or other relevant degrees. As a condition of accepting the scholarship, the student is expected to give a 30-40-minute presentation at one of the monthly Georgia Chapter – ACI luncheons.

Houston Chapter – ACI

Student Scholarship: Student Member Award: A $500 scholarship awarded annually to a student that is pursuing a degree in the field of concrete (Engineering, Construction, etc.). The student must be a member of the Houston Chapter and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Indiana Chapter – ACI

Thomas Grisinger Memorial Scholarship: Students at Indiana colleges and universities that are Freshman, Sophomores, or Juniors studying a concrete-related curriculum and intend on pursuing a career in concrete design or construction. Selection of awardee will be based on the information completed in the application, recommendations, and the final selection by the ICACI Scholarship Committee.

Intermountain Chapter – ACI

Intermountain Chapter Student Scholarship: The ACI Intermountain Chapter has established a scholarship program to foster the development of practicing engineers, architects and constructors in the field of concrete construction.

Kansas Chapter – ACI

Student Scholarship: The Chapter offers a scholarship for students that are pursuing education in fields pertaining to the concrete industry. There will only be one scholarship awarded per school, who will be invited to attend the Kansas Chapter – ACI’s annual scholarship golf tournament and dinner. All applicants must:

  • Maintain a 2.5 or above GPA;
  • Not have failed any classes;
  • Be a full-time student with a minimum class load of 12 hours; and
  • Not be a previous awardee of this award.

Minnesota Concrete Council – ACI

Student Scholarship: The Minnesota Concrete Council (MCC) offers scholarships for engineering students, construction management students, vo-tech, and community college students, as well as high school students. MCC continues to support the concrete finisher and laborer apprenticeship programs. In addition, MCC will provide a complimentary one-year MCC student membership and complimentary registration for all continuing education opportunities to the scholarship winner.

Missouri Chapter – ACI

Honorary Luke and Billie Snell Undergraduate Scholarship: The Chapter offers this scholarship to promote the development of future engineers, construction managers, and architects. The annual award will provide financial assistance for undergraduate students with an interest in careers in concrete design, materials, or construction.

Honorary Dr. David N. Richardson Graduate Scholarship: The Chapter offers this scholarship to promote the development of future engineers, contractors, and architects. The annual award will provide financial assistance for graduate students pursuing a course of study in the field of concrete design, materials, or construction.

National Capital Chapter – ACI

NCCACI Student Scholarships: The National Capital Chapter of the American Concrete Institute awards scholarships to local college students and students of our chapter members. Scholarships are awarded in the spring of each year. Selection of student(s) for a scholarship is based on a thorough review of applications by the Board members of NCCACI in an unbiased manner.

Nebraska Chapter – ACI

RT Deloram Scholarships: Awarded to deserving students (one undergraduate and one graduate) based on their interest and ability in concrete design, construction, and materials. The scholarships are awarded at the annual Awards of Excellence Banquet held in January or February of the new year.

Northeast Texas Chapter – ACI

James M Shilstone Sr. Memorial Scholarship: The Northeast Texas Chapter of American Concrete Institute (ACI NETX) has created a scholarship in memory of James “Jim” Maxwell Shilstone Sr., longtime ACI NETX member and concrete industry icon. Mr. Shilstone spent 60 years of his life dedicated to improving the durability and attractiveness of concrete mixtures. This new scholarship endowment will support talented students in the field of concrete design and technology.

Pittsburgh Area Chapter – ACI

Founders Award Fund: In June of 1988 the Chapter established the Founders Award Fund for undergraduate students, including seniors, who have an interest in the areas of cement technology, or concrete technology, design or construction. Three awards are given, one in the amount of $3,000 and two in the amount of $2,000.

Rocky Mountain Chapter – ACI

Jean-Claude Roumain Memorial Scholarship: The Rocky Mountain Chapter of ACI is now accepting applications for the Jean-Claude Roumain Memorial scholarship. This one-time $2000 grant is offered to an Engineering or Construction Management student who shows an interest in concrete as a sustainable construction medium.

San Antonio Chapter – ACI

Texas State University Scholarship and UTSA Scholarship: For students looking to make a career in the field of civil engineering. Based on number of applicants, an interview may be required prior to awarding the scholarships. The Chapter encourages students to apply regardless if they feel like they do not meet the minimum requirements.

San Diego International Chapter – ACI

ACI-SD Student Scholarship: Undergraduate and Graduate students from local universities who are pursuing a degree in a concrete related field are eligible. All Applicants must:

  • Be full time students currently enrolled in a university in the San Diego area (minimum 12 units/credit hours).
  • Be pursuing a bachelors or graduate degree in a concrete related field (i.e. Engineering, Architecture, Chemistry, Construction Management, etc.).
  • Demonstrate academic strength, leadership, and industry involvement.

Southern California Chapter – ACI

ACI SoCal Student Scholarship: A $2500 scholarship to be awarded to up to three qualifying Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture students. Candidates must be US citizens in their Junior, Senior, or Graduate year and have displayed enthusiastic promise in their engineering studies.

West Michigan Chapter – ACI

ACI West Michigan Chapter Scholarship: Presented to a student entering their junior or senior year and pursuing a course of study directly related to the construction industry at a college or university within the State of Michigan. The selection will be based on the student’s scholastic ability, extracurricular activities, references, and financial need.

Wisconsin Chapter – ACI

ACI-WI Scholarship: For undergraduate students pursuing course work in the field of concrete and who exemplify positive characteristics of a future member of the concrete construction industry. The scholarship is normally awarded at the Chapter’s January meeting every year.

Canada

Alberta Chapter – ACI

Student Scholarships: The Alberta Chapter of the ACI is committed to helping build our industry by supporting our local academic institutions. Currently the Chapter supports a $1500 scholarship at the following Institutions either directly or through endowment funds: University of Alberta, University of Calgary, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and Northern Institute of Technology

Quebec and Eastern Ontario Chapter – ACI

Student Scholarships: For Master’s and PhD students. All applicants must:

  • Be a graduate student at a university within the boundaries of the AIT Section;
  • Have started at least one session of the graduate program;
  • Have a research project in the field of cement concrete; and
  • Have submitted a complete application file before the deadline. An Application file consists of the registration form and a document with a maximum of 5 pages, including the title, general information, photos, graphics and appendices. It must also be authorized and signed by the responding teacher.
